Lumos Two is a smart, cute Carolina Dog with gorgeous golden eyes, a pink nose, a curly tail, and fluffy fur. She and her three brothers were spotted on Easter Sunday in the woods in Snow Hill when they were about two months old. Eight days after the litter was discovered and many days after her brothers were rescued, Lumos Two was rescued by Cause N Dog Rescue from a deep cave. By the time we adopted her, Lumos Two ate anything she saw while out for a walk, such as deer and rabbit poop, worms, pine needles, and grass.

Since Lumos Two was discovered on Easter Sunday and the vet estimated the litter was born on February 18th—exactly seven weeks after our previous dog Lumos passed away, which was believed to be Lumos’s first available day to reincarnate—since Lumos Two remembered how to get back home the first time we took her out for a walk, and since she is scared of any moving cars whenever she is near the spot where Lumos was killed, I believed Lumos Two is either sent by God or the reincarnation of Lumos. The thoughts of Lumos coming back and living with us provide our family great comfort.

Besides being super good at directions and disappearing in the woods, Lumos Two learns tricks quickly and often stares at paintings or signposts as if she knows how to read and appreciate art. She loves carrying her toys around while walking, which earns her lots of compliments like, “Oh, she is so cute!” Lumos Two is honest and doesn’t steal food that is not given.

But unlike the protective Lumos, when both she and her humans are placed in a dangerous situation, Lumos Two would run for her own life first. She is not loyal either; no matter how nicely her humans treat her, she trusts no one, so we nicknamed her Little Wolf. Being a Carolina wild dog, we understand that’s her personality and we love her to pieces.
